The purpose of the Club shall be for women to promote and cultivate social relationships, community awareness, and to support designated charities through fund raising in the Lake of the Ozarks area.

ABOUT US - A HISTORY
Long before there was the toll bridge, long before there was Porto Cima, long before there was the outlet mall, there was Newcomers/Longtimers.
Newcomers/Longtimers was formed in 1965 by a group of enterprising women. It is both a Lake institution and a tradition. It is a women’s volunteer, member-run organization which currently has over 300 members.
Each year N/L supports the community and many of its local charities through scholarships and fund-raising events.
N/L hosts a luncheon that includes programs designed to interest, inform and entertain. N/L promotes new and current friendships with a variety of activities and games -- Bunco, Cards and Games such as Bridge and Canasta, Book Clubs, Happy Hour, Dining Out, Working Women Wednesday and day trips - just to name a few.
Members can attend as many or as few of the activities as they like. Most of the events are ladies only, but men/partners are welcome at some of the get-togethers. Newcomers/Longtimers is fondly referred to as "the social Club with a heart.”
KICKOFF
Kickoff is an annual activity to jump-start the club's year which runs from June through May. It is normally held in September and previews the year's upcoming activities. Usually a themed event, it is both a homecoming for members after a long, hot summer and a get-acquainted event for new members and potential members – men do not attend this event. Be sure and mark your calendar when you see the announcement of the date!
SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year N/L presents a scholarship to one or more local students. A committee reviews applications and selects scholarship recipients. Scholarships are funded by the proceeds of fund-raising activities held throughout the year. Watch for the annual scholarship goal and progress. Status reports are given at the monthly luncheon. If you wish to donate directly to the scholarship fund, you may send a check (made out to N/L) to the Treasurer.
MONTHLY CHARITIES
At the beginning of each Club year, the Community Awareness Chair selects charities to be awarded donations at the Monthly Luncheon meetings. These charities are approved and supported by the Executive Board. They are published to the membership at the beginning of the Club year.
The monthly charity representative explains the charity and its needs at the Monthly Luncheon where raffle tickets are sold. Other N/L events also sell raffle tickets to support the charity throughout the month. The raffles are split 80/20, 80% to the charity and 20% to the members as prizes.
