Newcomers Hats Off To You & Skit

The Newcomer Longtimer organization held their monthly meeting at the Inn of the Grand Glaize on Thursday, Jan 17. "Hats Off To You" was a very special activity for the day. Each lady brought a hat to be donated to Lake Regional Hospital's Oncology Department. These hats will be appreciated by those patients under going chemotherapy, especially breast cancer patients.

A skit entitled, "Dam History with Pa and Ma Vittles" was presented by the Community Committee of the NC/LT's. Jill Ward, acted as narrator, Jan Cizek as Ma Vittle's and Mary von Hoff as Pa Vittles. The skit traced the history of this area from the time the Indians were living here up until the present time. The skit focused on the reason we are all here today, which is Bagnell Dam. Most importantly, it told the story in comedic form about the building of Bagnell Dam and how the citizens of Old Linn Creek were displaced because of the rising waters from the Dam. The skit was also a reminder to everyone to keep the lake a beautiful and safe place to live and boat. A reminder to make sure the future generations can enjoy it too.

The Community Committee meets the first Monday of each month at the Central Bank main facility in Osage Beach. For more information, callCarleneChubbuckat374-9281.
