House Captains Get Ready For NC/LT Home Tour
 

 

 
  Home Tour House Captains, Phyllis Waters and Sandy Biggum, have met with their committee to schedule the staffing of the six homes on the Fourteenth Annual Newcomers/Longtimers Home Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17.

This year's homes are all located in Porto Cima. The homes range in size from 5,000 to 10,000 sq. ft. featuring a variety of styles and amenities. Tour Headquarters is located in Sunrise Beach at the Village Station on MM.

The House Captains are responsible for scheduling three shifts of volunteers who are stationed throughout each of the six homes. After being greeted at the door, ticket holders are directed from room to room where volunteers point out interesting features of the home. Phyllis and Sandy anticipate needing at least 250 volunteers to help out at the homes on tour day. The volunteers are Newcomers/Longtimers members, their spouses, family and friends.

The Home Tour is the annual fundraiser for the Newcomers/Longtimers Club and the proceeds benefit local charities, educational scholarships and organizations selected by President, Sharon Spencer. This year,Äôs proceeds go to:Dogwood Animal Shelter, Dream Factory, Wonderland Camp, Lake Regional Health System Obstetrics Unit and the Newcomers/Longtimers Scholarship Fund.

Central Bank, Donna,Äôs Hallmark, Essentials Salon Spa, First National Bank, Flamingo,Äôs, Glitz and Glamour, Karon,Äôs Korner, Lake Regional Health System, Love Realty, Saffee,Äôs, Stonecrest Book and Toy, Studio 54, The Little Shop of Hers and the Village Station.Tickets may also be purchased for $25 at Tour Headquarters on May 17.
